Variation (stories written by Jessica Vertz)
Sunrise may never reach your eyes down in the deeper pockets of the jungle. The gentle buzz of flies and heartbeats of creatures swell and fall in a slow and quiet techno. So low these places, each unique, and varied, are found folded in the foliage. The necessary light is supplied by flowers blooming bright with bulbs of many kinds. Electric, elusive colors cast under changing lights; they dim and brighten with the static created by slithering snakes. Each flower varied, like a show girl in bloom, to draw the animals to their display, and secure the energy they need to proceed to fruit, from seed. Jewel ribbons with eyes of aquamarine, the snakes wind and wander between traffic lights of red, gold, and green. They leave their dives and find these bright nightclubs, lucky to know the ins and outs of a jungle as diverse as a city.
